Clinician Qualifications.

 

Connect & Grow’s main clinician is referred to as a trauma-informed therapeutic specialist, a clinician or a family therapist.

She has successfully obtained a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) and is currently working towards obtaining her Masters of Clinical Family Therapy. Connect & Grow’s clinician is a current member of the Australian Association of Family Therapy, has a current Working With Children’s Check and last obtained a Victorian Police Check in 2020. She practices in accordance with the AAFT Code of Ethics and participates in regular professional supervision with an appropriately qualified clinician.

Connect & Grow believes strongly in the benefit of work experience and professional development opportunities offered through employment. Connect & Grow’s therapeutic specialist has over 15 years of industry experience.

Child Safe Standards.

 

Connect & Grow believes strongly that everyone in our community has a responsibility to ensure the safety of children and is proud to comply with Child Safe Standards. Connect & Grow will always promote child safety, and will, where possible, prevent child abuse and properly respond to disclosures of child abuse.

Connect & Grow’s Collaborative Working Approach ensures that Child Safe Standards are met in consultation with children, young people and parents/guardians, and will provide opportunities and support to empower children and young people to have a voice regarding decisions that affect their lives.

Consent.

 

Connect & Grow will request the consent (verbal or signed) of all young people and parents/guardians prior to commencement. The consent of both parents/guardians (where possible) must be received prior to counselling sessions beginning. Documented reasons why consent of both parents/guardians can’t be given must be provided by the consenting parent/guardian.  

Reports will only be provided when specifically funded or when court ordered. Letters in support of funding or services which will benefit the child, young person or the family will be provided at the request of the family. No charges will apply for such support letters unless discussed prior.  

Signed consent will be requested and received prior to any video recording photos taken.

Fees.

 

Fees start at $130 for individual sessions and $150 for family sessions.

Appointments are 60 minutes in duration. 

Please note there is no rebate available through mental health care plans. In relation to private health it is best to contact your health fund directly to enquire about eligibility. NDIS and Organisational Fees vary and can be clarified by contacting Connect & Grow directly.

Emergency Services.

Connect & Grow is not an emergency service.  

 If you or your child is in a life-threatening situation, experiencing intense thoughts of suicide or in a mental health crisis, please contact an emergency service (police, ambulance, fire) on 000.
