Family Therapy.
Family Therapy offers families a safe place to build stronger relationships and find new ways to approach challenges.
Family Therapy recognises that when one or more people in a family experience a challenge, the family surrounding them are usually affected to. Family Therapy can benefit the individual or the whole family, and by ‘family’ we mean people who are in a close relationship with each other. The emergence of family therapy saw family therapists shift the focus of therapy from individual therapy and the patient-therapist relationship to a holistic therapy which allows for the consideration of social context, communication and relationships with others.
Family therapists deal with the personal relations and interactions of the family members and support them all to express and explore difficult emotions and thoughts, understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on strengths and make useful changes in their lives. Research shows that family therapy is beneficial for children, young people and adults navigating a wide range of difficulties and experiences.
